Adam Donohue is a saxophonist, composer, music producer/engineer, and educator. Adam’s musical interests and projects are based around experimental improvisation and contemporary jazz compositions. His current ensembles include Endeavor, The Jim Hegarty Group and performances with The Brian Vaccaro Quartet. He also composes for various groups and produces recordings. Additionally, he writes and produces for contemporary dance theater using electronic tools and modern production techniques.
As an educator at Lindenwood University since 2012, Adam has developed music production and jazz programs, in the context of a 21c forward-looking and career-focused Music Business and Entrepreneurship degree program. He teaches music technology and production, jazz theory and arranging, and saxophone. He also manages the recording practicum and the recording studio, Push Records. A variety of teaching positions have been held by Donohue, including Full Sail University, where he taught composition, music theory and recording, and Elon University having taught music technology, arranging and music business. He graduated from Berklee College of Music and completed a graduate degree at Washington State University in jazz composition and saxophone.
